Well, that's it.
We're done with this part of the journey.
I hope everyone who stayed with me through every angsty, tear inducing moment found this ending to be worth it.
I know I scared and traumatized many folks and for that I do apologize. But you should know, I laid out a few clues elsewhere via other pieces in my verse where I indicated that Tony would not, in fact, be executed.
One of these pieces that laid out a pretty big clue was a chapter called Warm Me Up in my Shadows of Love fanfic. In the chapter, if you've not read it, Eva is about 13 or 14 and gets her first major (well she thinks so anyway) parental caused embarrassment as a teenager when her parents decide to demonstrate their affection for each other in front of... well to find that out, you'll need to read the chapter :-) There are a few other clues laid on in my published chapters in other fics but Warm Me Up was one I wrote, and was actually reluctant to post because I knew it took place like 9 to 10 years after the events of I will see your nation cast down.
Anyway, I want you to know that I have already written 10,000 words or so on a sequel to I will see your nation cast down, which will be titled Islands In the Stream. Yes I named it after the song that was sung by Dolly Parton/Kenny Rogers but written by the Bee Gees, because I love the song! Islands In the Stream picks up literally a few days after the end of I will see your nation cast down, and in it, Tony and Pepper decide that they need to get away from it all for a little while, just them and their kids. So they travel to the private Caribbean island that Howard bought even before Tony was born. Now that isn't all what the story is about because eventually the Avengers (and everyone's extended families) get invited to join them on the island.
LOL, the story is going to be better than it sounds because a few important events happen on the island while they're all there and I will tell you now, Islands In the Stream will have a tiny, itty bitty amount of angst in it, like it's going to be 99.9% fluff and just maybe 0.1% bit of angst!
Now, regarding the sequel to I will see your nation cast down.
I started the sequel sometime back, around the time I will see your nation cast down was in its early stages, and while I have over 10,000 words written on it, it still lacks a good bit of the story I want to tell. I want to post a teaser and or very short first chapter for it but honestly I don't know when I would be able to update it after that. I am sorry that I don't have it as finished as I will see your nation cast down, but you see I will see your nation cast down took a great deal of my creative energy/juices.
But there is some good news because I have some other projects going in the Nation verse too, and I think I want to post them while Islands In the Stream is in progress. I will just need to do a delicate dance so I won't spoil something that's in Islands but I think I can do it. I think the only semi-bad news is the fact most of the other stories I want to post are also in progress. But hey, you guys will have something to read and hopefully I'll have enough to write my muse will let me work on at least one thing at a time if it doesn't anything else.
Now if you have something you're curious about and would like to request that I try to cover it, then my Ask Box on Tumblr is open HERE - you don't even have to be a member of the site to leave me a message since I have the anon button turned on. Just make your comment/request and we'll see what I can do to answer your burning questions/prompts!
Or if you really don't want to use Tumblr, you can leave your questions/prompts for me here. I am leaving the comments on moderated setting for a while longer, so anything you say will be between us and if you want it to stay that way, let me know. Just know if it does stay between us, I won't be able to reply to you on the site because I have to approve your comment before I can hit the reply button.
Anyway, that's about it. I want to thank everyone of you who made this journey with me. I cannot believe it's already over! Six months to post 3 years worth of writing! Well not just writing as this story represents a lot of frustrations, tears, and at times wishing I never started writing this! But through the encouragement of my truest friends, I found the will not to delete the story, and then thanks to them again, I found the courage to post it. So if you've enjoyed this fanfic on any level, give them your applause too!
I plan on posting what I can of Islands In the Stream and the other stories as soon as I can! Be on the watch and may I suggest that if you haven't done so already, you subscribe to the Nation series?
See you soon!
